How our estimate works
We inspect the car, explain the problem, list parts and labour, and start only after you approve. If we find something extra, we ask before adding it.
Learn about genuine, OEM and aftermarket parts so you can choose with confidence.
How to read a repair estimate
- The fault: what is wrong and how it was found
- Parts: each part listed with brand and type
- Labour: the time and rate for the job
- Extras: fluids, consumables or disposal
- The total in PKR, and what happens if more work is needed
Parts: genuine, OEM or aftermarket
Part choice changes the price. Genuine parts come under the carmaker brand, OEM parts come from the original supplier, and aftermarket parts come from other makers, with quality that varies. Ask which is quoted, and ask about warranty. We list the type on the estimate.
Ways to keep repair costs down
- Service on schedule. Small faults are cheaper than big ones.
- Describe symptoms early, before a noise becomes damage.
- Ask what can wait and what cannot.
- Keep records so work is not repeated.
Questions to ask any workshop
- Can I have the estimate in writing?
- Which parts will you fit, and what is the warranty?
- Will you call me before doing extra work?
- Can I see the old parts?
What affects the price by type of job
- Servicing: oil type and quantity, filters, and the extra items due
- Brakes: pads, discs, fluid and the labour to fit them
- AC: leak size, part replaced and access to it
- Electrical: time to trace the fault and the parts needed
- Engine work: the amount of dismantling and the parts replaced
- Suspension: the parts, labour, and whether alignment is needed
Why prices differ between workshops
Two quotes for the same job can differ because of part quality, labour rate, what is included, and whether the quote covers only the visible problem. A very low price may leave out parts or use poor ones. Ask each workshop to list what is included.
How to compare two estimates
Compare the fault described, the parts and their brands, the labour, the warranty and the total. If one estimate is much lower, ask why.
Receipts and records
Ask for a receipt that lists parts and labour, and keep it. It helps with warranty claims, repeat problems and resale value.
